Inspire Me Thursday-Feb. Challenge #2: Self Portrait without a Camera! Tag!

This was fun. I haven't sketched anything in a while and I learned that I so can't do anything beyond one dimension, so this was indeed a challenge. I also tried out some oil pastels we had around. They were fun as far as color, but messy and smudgey--maybe that was a good thing! LOL.

Check out the Inspire Me Thursday website for more challenges and inspiration. I am looking forward to stretching myself and learning from these amazing artists!

Pastels take some getting use to don't they! You need to put a lot of newspaper or something like that under what your working on or there will be a BIG mess! I do like how u can mix colors with them though. Kinda like how u did...I love the colors in this piece.

gabriella--you were my first inspiration for getting out pastels. Then I started noticing them everywhere. You know how much I love the piece you did! I did love blending the colors. I kind of was like a little kid mixing playdoe colors...lol...do you use oils? let me know more what you use. :)

Ohhh, how adorable! I really need to play with my pastels. They just are sitting neatly in a box looking pretty. Thanks for sharing your wonderful piece!

I did this too- it was fun! Looking at those grade three portraits really inspired me.

By they way- I like the pink at the bottom of yours- and the glasses. Those are my favourite parts.

I don't use blogger, so I am not sure how you'd get a picture up there. Do you know anyone who uses blogger that you could ask? If not- I'll look into it a bit and see if I can figure it out. I like learning that kind of thing.

Thanks, Krista! I can't wait to see your self portrait!

about the blog pic--no, I haven't asked anyone else. I know how to get the HTML tag for the photo I want to put in my title area, but I don't know where to insert or how to set the margins. I looked up the html tutorial stuff, but it's too confusing for someone to me: info overload. I'm sure it's something pretty easy. I will look into it more, thanks!
