"Wish Upon a Star" by artjunk

Go check out Inspire Me Thursday. You can see lots of great art there! Definitely out of my league but I am learning and meeting incredible artists there, it's open to artists of all levels--don't be shy, go create something!

photoshop! perish the thought! I love making a mess!!!! I tried to scan it to the be the closest possible to what it looks like. sometimes it scans the color hues a bit deeper. I do have picasa 2 but that's about as far as my digital photo skills can take me!
here's what I used:
acrylic paint mix for background: purple and yellow. just brushed on canvas over a white gesso base. (I love...mixing colors!)
2. I then collaged the print from tuscan rose (see link on right sidebar). I then used "deco" paint markers to do all the purple checks *they were originally green in the print. I also used the purple for the lips, jewelry, etc. Also to outline the painted star. I love deco markers...just don't like the smell....
3. I used a stamp in yellow paint for star.
4. deco paint marker again for writing.
5. neocolor II watercolor crayons around girl, then wet down a bit to hightlight.
that's why I love multi/mixed media art. I just love using several mediums on a piece. after I get the "base" piece done, then I start altering it with all the paints/markers, etc. that's the relaxing part for me as well!
