Mixed Media Memoirs
I've been wanting to do my MixedMediaMemoirs challenge this week and I finally got to sit down and do it. I always feel better after a few moments of art and retrospection. Please go to the MixedMediaMemoirs site to see everyone elses. It's been great to participate in this. LK

I like you work alot. I have always wanted to start doing a bit of mixed media, collage stuff, but then chicken out. I am glad I stumbled on to your site, and get to look at your tags and other things. I am the mom of three and we homeschool, and just recently my son and I did a collage together. Having kids can inspire too. Thank you for sharing.~bren
Dear Bren~ Thanks so much for writing and introducing yourself! Please come visit anytime! I agree that kids inspire us! My children are my GREATEST inspiration! I love watching them create. They do so from the heart without thinking about it! My girls are always making something artful or baking or decorating our dinner table. For collage, I give them small ziploc bags with various scraps, stickers, etc. and ask them to create something. They love it. I also keep a shoebox up in a cabinet over the fridge to store things away for a "rainy day". Things that come in the mail like free stickers, unique stamps, and the like. One of my daughters is a perfectionist and also not very verbally expressive. Art has helped her come out of her shell. She makes things that touch my heart and show me what she is thinking about. It's so great for kids to be allowed to creatively express themselves! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will pursue your desire to create with mixed media! Email me anytime!--Lia
I love the Mixed Media Memoir and was a little shocked to see what phrases you chose to put together (and maybe more importantly where they came from!). I've been in online dating for about 7 years now and to see some of your phases combined really spoke to me, best part of art, so thanks for posting your work.
Thanks for commenting, abbymaya! Yes, I work alot of my "junk" out when I'm making art so it may be shocking to one and mild to another, we all interpret it in a way that speaks to us. That is the amazing thing all types of art: writing, music, MM, etc. ---they are all felt in a personal way. I'm so glad that it spoke to you and that you let me know.
